MSc (Eng) Communications Engineering

The communications revolution is continuing, and techniques are advancing all the time. Older modulation and coding methods are being steadily replaced by new ones, and the communications industry needs engineers trained in them.

This course meets the growing demand for engineers who understand modern communications techniques and the electronics that make them work. It provides them with a broad training in communication theory, radio propagation, embedded systems and systems design.

The School of Electronic and Electrical Engineering is ranked number 1 in the whole of the UK for the quality of its research in the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE).


Delivery option Full time. This course runs for one calendar year, starting in September.
Entry requirements

A degree equivalent to a UK upper second class honours (2.1) degree or higher in an appropriate numerate discipline usually electronic engineering, but others may be considered.

English language requirements A pass at GCSE level in English Language (grade C or above). International students must have an English language qualification at a suitable level, for example IELTS 6.0 or equivalent
