MSc (Eng) Environmental Engineering and Project Management

This programme provides consultants, operators, regulators and managers with the professional skills and training required to contribute to the provision of environmentally sound and economically sustainable systems in the following fields: clean water supply; wastewater treatment and the management of solid waste.

The programme has been designed to follow three particular themes within environmental engineering:

Environmental Engineering & Project Management is intended for individuals who find themselves with little knowledge or experience of the management techniques necessary to manage a range of projects. Additionally, it is also appropriate for people who have a background in management, but feel that they lack up-to-date technical knowledge, in this rapidly changing field.

Public Health Engineering covers in detail the collection and treatment of water and wastewaters from primarily a UK/EU perspective. Students can focus on either the problems of water treatment and distribution or wastewater collection, treatment and disposal.

Tropical Public Health Engineering is aimed at those developing countries for which the most important priorities are the provision of low-cost water supplies and sanitation. It is concerned with the health implications of water-related diseases and with those technologies which are best able to reduce risk from excreta-related diseases, whilst also minimising the environmental impact.
